Performance Degradation Due to Code Tracking Errors in Spread-Spectrum Code-Division Multiple-Access Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
The influence of code synchronization errors on the performance of direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DS/SS) communication systems is investigated. Insight is gained in the degradation of some basic performance parameters due to the tracking bias of a noncoherent delay lock loop (DLL). The performance parameters investigated are the bit-error probability, throughput and delay. Numerical results show that for receivers with an early-late spacing of il = 1, using a noncoherent DLL, the results of a system performance analysis in a fast fading environment can be much too optimistic if the tracking errors are ignored.

A Novel Multi-user Detection Approach on Fluctuations of Autocorrelation Estimators in Non-Cooperative Communication
Recently, blind multi-user detection has become an important topic in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) signals are well-known due to their low probability of detection, and secure communication. In this article, the problem of blind multi-user detection is studied in variable processing gain direct-sequence code division multiple access (VPG D...

The technology of Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS-CDMA) has been chosen for mobile communication systems because of numerous advantages. A major advantage is that it can provide a better capacity compared to the other possible technologies of multiple access [1]. In a spread spectrum system, the signal bandwidth is increased to a value much larger than is needed to transmit th...

متن کاملMulti-Rate Performance in DS/CDMA Systems
Different modulation schemes supporting multiple data rates in a Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS/CDMA) system are studied. Both AWGN and multipath Rayleigh fading channels are considered. It is shown that the multi processing-gain scheme and the multi-channel scheme have almost the same performance. However, the multi-channel scheme may have some advantages due to near-far res...
